Hello and welcome to my little Cancer Research Project Stats Counter site
I created this site for the many thousands of Cancer Research Project crunchers around the world. The site basically retrieves your stats from the project's servers to create a graphic similar to the one below:
Unlike some other similar services on the web, my service caches your results so that you never see anything like "unable to connect to server" or "server error". The site also uses a time delay system to reduce the demand on the project's servers and my own.
The site also allows you to:
- Choose the background colour,
- Choose the border colour,
- Choose text colour,
- Chooose a background image (optional), and
- Decide whether the background is transparent or not. As the latter is decided by an option in your URL, you can have transparency on for one site and off for others. It's up to you!

06/05/07: The Cancer Research Project has now closed. As a result, registration for stats graphics has been suspended as the stats are no longer available. Existing users stats will remain available for the time being.

18/04/05: I have created a Forum for users of my Cancer Project counters. The forum is on a trial basis. If it proves useful, then it will remain operational.
06/04/05: Disclaimer amended - typo fixes only. Also replaced references to "account ID" to "account name" where applicable to avoid confusion.

04/12/04: Updated preview and stats scripts to handle URLs for background images that become dead
23/08/04: Bug in registration script fixed - thanks to Jason for pointing out. Also fixed bug regarding registration date - correct dates are now displayed - thanks to Mr Clark for pointing it out.
12/08/04: Total CPU time and rank added to user's graphics.
10/08/04: Site launched - BETA testing phase started.
Disclaimer
- No personal details are stored - only a valid e-mail address and Cancer Research Project account ID are required.
- All passwords are encrypted using DES level encryption. There is no way I can decrypt your password.
- Your stats will be stored and only used to create your stats graphic.
- Your e-mail address will never be disclosed.
- Your user stats are only updated when your graphic is reloaded and if it has been longer than 480 minutes since your stats were last fetched from the project's servers.
- The site relies on Cancer Research Project's servers for its stats. If their servers are unavailable, your cached stats here will be used to create your stats graphic instead. You will therefore always be able to see your stats unlike other similar sites on the web.
- If you supply a background image, it should be noted that the PHP imagecopyresized function is used to resize the supplied image and can increase the time taken to load your graphic.
- If you supply a background image, it must be no bigger than 400 by 400 pixels.
- Supplying a palletted background image will cause it to be converted to a TrueColour image and will therefore increase the time taken to load your graphic.
- If you forget your password, please e-mail admin@cancer.mundayweb.com with your account details, e.g. user ID and/or registration e-mail address.
- If you do not activate your account within 7 days of registering, your account will be deleted.
